  • Welcome to Revd Canon Dr Alan Bartlett - our new Vicar

Welcome to Revd Canon Dr Alan Bartlett.  Alan is full-time Ministry Development Advisor (training officer) for the Diocese of Durham and serves in Bearpark in a voluntary capacity. He lives in Bearpark, with his wife Helen who is a lay minister and a railway chaplain. Our hope and prayer is to renew the Church community in Bearpark by welcoming more people into active Christian discipleship and our intention is to continue to work with our friends at the Chapel and many others in our village to be a blessing to the whole community. Jesus came so that we can have “life in all its fullness”. That is what we are about! In the short term we are continuing to hold services at 9.00am on a Sunday and 8.00am on a Friday. We will be helping with a Holiday Club in the village every Thursday morning during the school summer holidays and hope to start some new child-friendly services in the autumn as well as holding our traditional services at Harvest, Remembrance Sunday and Christmas. We are very glad to be a place where everyone can celebrate the birth of a child through christening, or pray God’s blessing on a new marriage, or commend a loved one into God’s hands in a dignified funeral. Don’t be shy about asking! All enquiries should be directed to our Durham North Team Parish Office at - The Team Office, St Cuthbert's with St Aidan's Parish Hall, Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham, DH1 5BL. Tel  - 0191 384 7825 email - durhamnorthteam@gmail.com We are working hard to keep St Edmund’s part of our community so that this beautiful, peaceful, place of prayer is available for generations to come and we would love to welcome you to our church family! If you need to contact Alan direct his details are 0191 374 6012, 07384 214576 or alan.bartlett:durham.anglican.org  but please remember he is not a full-time vicar so your patience will be appreciated if he does not get back to you straight away! May the Lord bless our village.
